Laura Whitlock, Milliner at Mind, Body and Wellness

Join us for an exciting millinery workshop led by designer, Laura Whitlock, demonstrating hat-making techniques, and telling tales of her 30+ year career throughout the morning. We'll use straw bases, flowers, feathers, ribbons, and tulle to create either a Victorian style chapeau for the stroll, or a modern fascinator to be worn for a special event. All materials and sewing supplies will be provided.
Maximum 20 participants. $10 per person.

You are invited to the social event of the season at the Albia Tea Parlor! Festivities begin with live musical entertainment in the Parlor, furnished with an eclectic mix of Victorian-era furnishings, curiosities, and art. You will move to the beautiful Tea Room for sandwiches, savories, and sweets. Victorian attire is encouraged but not required. Reservations are limited and required. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online at albiateaparlor.com.

- Mitchell's Kettle Corn
- Horse-drawn carriage rides to view 30 beautifully lit buildings around the square listed on the National Register of Historic Places
- Civil War Encampment presented by 1861 to 1865 Civil War Reenactments, 3rd Iowa, Company C, Light Artillery
- Authentic Blacksmith Steve O'Grady demonstrates hot and cold forging on an anvil
- Hospitality Centers with beverages, homemade cookies, and live music at the Courthouse, 1st Iowa State Bank, and Peoples State Bank
